Grace Hollopeter Earns Horizon League Player of the Week Award

INDIANAPOLIS - Purdue Fort Wayne freshman Grace Hollopeter was selected as the Horizon League's Player of the Week on Tuesday (Feb. 21), the league announced.
Hollopeter led Purdue Fort Wayne to a three-win week, picking up two wins over Rhode Island and one against Eastern Kentucky. The freshman finished the week with seven hits with a .368 batting average and a 1.053 slugging percentage. She had nine RBIs behind four home runs, three of which were 2-run shots. In the first game against Rhode Island, Hollopeter had two two-run home runs in her first two at bats, the second of which was on the first pitch she saw. Defensively, she was a perfect 1.000 in the field with eight putouts.
She is the first Mastodon freshman to be named Player of the Week since 2012.
Hollopeter and the Mastodons will take the field again on Friday (Feb. 24) at the 2023 Aces Home Tournament #2 in Evansville.
