Men's Golf Heads to The Jewell

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team will head to neighboring Batavia, Ohio to take part in The Jewell hosted by Northern Kentucky.

Competing Teams
Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, Youngstown State, Cleveland State, Southern Indiana, Bellarmine, Robert Morris, Kentucky Wesleyan, Eastern Illinois, Thomas More, Saint Francis (Pa.), Chicago State, Detroit Mercy, Miami and Wright State will be competing. Seven of the 10 Horizon League schools will be present.
About the Course
Elks Run Golf Club, rated top 10 in Ohio by Golf week in 2010, is a 4-Star rated facility by Golf Digest. Situated on 163 acres of lush, rolling hills in Batavia, Ohio, Elks Run Golf Course is a 6,845-yard championship course that is both challenging and enjoyable to play. Utilizing bent grass greens, tees and fairways, this Greg Norman design takes advantage of the rolling hills and creeks to provide a course that works within its natural characteristics.

Kasey Lilly, Hunter Mefford, Burke Pitz, Nick Holder and Reece Compton will play for the team score. Jadden Ousley will compete as an individual.
The Last Jewell
In the 2022 edition of The Jewell, Purdue Fort Wayne took second as a team, led by runner-up Kasey Lilly. Lilly was just one shot away from medalist honors and the team was two shots behind team champion Youngstown State.

Kasey Lilly took eighth at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational on Tuesday (March 28). This extended his program-leading record to 13 top-10 finishes in his career.
