Mastodons Take Down NKU 63-58 For Road #HLMBB Win

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Jalen Jackson finished a rebound short of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds to help the Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball team to a 63-58 victory at Northern Kentucky on Thursday (Jan. 25). The game was aired live on ESPNU. The 'Dons have now swept the season series with the Norse.
Jackson finished 3-of-4 from three with his biggest coming with 2:54 left in the game. With the shot clock winding down in front of his own bench, Jackson rose up and drained a 3-pointer in traffic to put the Mastodons up 54-50. Rasheed Bello added his own three at 2:01 to put the 'Dons up 57-50. An Eric Mulder layup at 1:13 and several key free throws down the stretch clinched the contest.
The 'Dons limited NKU to 35.8 percent (19-of-53) from the floor and 3-of-18 from three. NKU had only two field goals in the final 10 minutes of the contest. Marques Warrick led the Norse with 27 points.
Quinton Morton-Robertson added 15 points. Anthony Roberts finished with 10.
The 'Dons led for 26 minutes of the game. The contest featured 11 ties and eight lead changes.
The Mastodons finished at 40 percent from the floor (22-of-55).
