FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team picked up a point in the Horizon League standings with a draw against Detroit Mercy on Saturday (Oct. 19). The Titans spent the entire second half playing a man down after Casey McCarthy was issued a red card in minute 40. After the scoreboard flipped to half two, the Mastodons dominated control of the match. After an 8-6 advantage in shots in the first 45, the 'Dons out-shot the Titans 16-4 in the second half.
Purdue Fort Wayne had six shots in a 6:30 span before finally finding an equalizer in the 71st minute. James Maxwell charged deep into the box to chip a ball from Marco Valencia into the net. After this, the Mastodons had seven shots to try to find a game-winner, but they were turned away each time.
