About the Course
Lexington holds a special place in Kentucky history and geography. Founded in 1775 and named after the famed Massachusetts battle where the "shot heard ´round the world"; opened the American Revolution, the Kentucky frontier town rapidly evolved into a remarkably sophisticated and cultured community. Lexington became home for a substantial elite of prominent citizens, accomplished in a wide range of endeavors. For their leisure moments, Lexington society enjoyed horse racing, fox hunting, church functions, theater and theatricals, opera, parks, various service clubs and fraternal orders, restaurants, taverns, and cafés. The town still lacked a special locus for social recreation. So over one hundred years ago, some of central Kentucky's most prominent citizens gathered to form a golf club modeled on the best of such clubs in the United States. The result was the founding of the Lexington Country Club on beautiful Paris Pike in Fayette County. Evolving into a grand social club offering golf, tennis, swimming, great sports tournaments, a regal clubhouse, fine food, and lavish parties.
Mastodon Lineup
Justin Hicks, Nick Holder, Brock Reschly, AJ Agnew and Nick Bellush will compete for the team score.
Freshman Phenom
In his first collegiate event, Justin Hicks tied the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf freshman scoring record. He shot a 211 at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
Hometown Heroes
Justin Hicks and Nick Holder are both local products from Fort Wayne. Hicks played for Leo High School and Holder played for Bishop Dwenger High School.
High Expectations
Purdue Fort Wayne is coming off its best season in program history in terms of scoring average, which saw the Mastodons average a four-player score of 290.1, over three strokes better than the previous record from 2022-23.
Last Time Out
The Mastodons finished 14th at the Purdue Fall Invitational.
Coming Up
Purdue Fort Wayne will wrap up the fall season with a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Xavier Invitational on October 21-22.
