Season Notes
- Ava Genovese was named Horizon League Runner of the Week after finishing fifth at Green Bay's Phoenix Open, earning her the weekly award on Sept. 10.
- The program's 8K record has been broken three times this season. Austin Hall broke the record at the Phoenix Open (Sept. 6) with a time of 24:43:9. Harrison Niswander broke the time set by Hall in back-to-back meets. Niswander started with a time of 24:35.5 at the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame, he then improved his time by 10 seconds in the following meet at Bradley. That mark of 24:20.43 stands as the program's 8K record.
- Riley Tate and Ava Genovese placed themselves in the program's top-ten finishes for both the 5K and 6K. The Mastodons competed in their lone 5K at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational (Oct. 4). Tate now sits third in the program records (17:34.3) and Genovese owns eighth (17:56.9). The two 'Dons found their placement on the program's top-ten 6K finishes in the same meet, the Bradley Pink Classic (Oct. 18). Tate completed the meet in 21:05.28, which is fifth-best, and Genovese earned a spot at seventh (21:43.48) after the meet.
- 10 of the 11 Mastodons competing in the Horizon League Women's Cross Country Championship ran personal-best times in consecutive meets, the Joe Piane Invitational and Bradley Pink Classic.
Both men's and women's teams will travel to Norton, Ohio to race in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The Mastodons will run at Silver Creek Metro Park on November 15.
