‘Dons Dominate Eastern Michigan With 20 3-Pointers

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Behind a 54.7 percent shooting performance, the Mastodon men's basketball team defeated Eastern Michigan 99-76 on Sunday (Dec. 15) afternoon. It is the Mastodons' first ever win at Eastern Michigan after three previous attempts.
Jalen Jackson scored his 1,000th career point, Purdue Fort Wayne and UIC combined, with a field goal in the first half. The Fort Wayne native now has 790 points in a Mastodon uniform.
Rasheed Bello scored his 1,500th career point with a 3-pointer in the first half. He now has 718 points for the 'Dons and 791 with UW-Parkside.
The 'Dons never trailed in the contest, leading 48-34 at half. Bello and Jackson each had 14 points in the first 20 minutes
Purdue Fort Wayne finished 20-of-39 (51.3 percent) from beyond the arc. The 20 3-pointers are one short of the school-record 21 the 'Dons have made on three occasions. This is the fourth time the 'Dons have made exactly 20 3-pointers in a game in program history.
Bello finished with a team-high 19 points and five 3-pointers. Corey Hadnot II also recorded five 3-pointers for 17 points. Jackson joined Hadnot II with 17 points. Maximus Nelson drained four 3-pointers for 14 points. Chandler Cuthrell used two 3-pointers to hit double-digits with 10 points. Cuthrell and Hadnot II helped the 'Dons to a 37-6 edge in bench points.
EMU was led by Jalen Terry's 28 points.
Eastern Michigan falls to 5-5. The 'Dons improve to 8-4. Purdue Fort Wayne hosts Defiance on Friday (Dec. 20) at the Gates Sports Center.
