Know Your Foe
Wright State is off to a rough start in 2024, but is a dangerous 3-point threat. The Raiders have poured in 10 or more triples in four games already, including a season-high 16 against Cleveland State earlier this month. The Raiders are 2-11 and have lost their last seven. Claire Henson and Amaya Staton both average around 10 points per game. In league play, Rylee Sagester is averaging 13.7, with 13 triples in three games.
The Series
Wright State has an 11-10 edge in the series, but Purdue Fort Wayne has won five of the last six. The Raiders won the last meeting in Dayton 70-66, but only Lauren Scott, who scored six points in that game, is still on the roster from that game in February.
Ross Has the Sauce
Through 13 games, Lauren Ross is shooting 51.0 percent from the floor, 51.2 percent from 3-point range and 91.8 percent from the line. If these percentages hold, she would be the first women's player and second player overall to ever shoot 50/50/90 since the 3-point line was added to college basketball. Salim Stoudamire (Arizona, 2004-05) is the only other college player to do hit all three marks for an entire season while meeting minimum requirements.
Scoring Machine
Lauren Ross is averaging 19.2 points per game this season, which is the third-most by any Mastodon since joining Division I in 2001. Amanda Hyde (22.3, 2013-14) and Johnna Lewis-Carlisle (19.5, 2007-08) are the top two.
