Meet the Field
Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, IUPUI, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, North Carolina A&T, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, South Dakota, Stetson, UT Martin, Notre Dame.
About the Courses
The King & Bear is the only golf course in the world that has been co-designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. This course offers a mixture of two different design styles. The front nine is an open, links-style layout that gives a nod to the heritage of the historic city of St. Augustine, Florida. The back nine is more traditional Florida golf fringed with loblolly pines, 200-year-old oak trees, indigenous coquina rock, and numerous water features. With 7,279 yards, it's a "driver's" course, which should come as no surprise, as both Palmer and Nicklaus wielded awesome power games in their primes.
Mastodon Lineup
Kasey Lilly, Hunter Mefford, Burke Pitz, Nick Holder and AJ Agnew will play for the team score. Nick Bellush will play as an individual.
The GOATs
This season, Purdue Fort Wayne has the best single-season team scoring average in program history with an average of 285.6.
Record Breakers
The Mastodons set a pair of records at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on September 11-12. The 'Dons broke the 36-hole record with a 557 and the 54-hole record with an 846. The 'Dons then tied that 54-hole record at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational on October 2-3.
Last Time Out
The 'Dons took third at the MartinFed Invitational, shooting 858 as a team. They were led by Burke Pitz, who shot 212.
Coming Up
The 'Dons will travel back to Florida, this time in Daytona Beach, on March 4-5 to play in the Daytona Beach Intercollegiate hosted by Stetson.
