Milwaukee Pulls Away From ‘Dons in Second Half

MILWAUKEE – Rasheed Bello scored 21 points in a 96-88 loss at Milwaukee on Sunday (Feb. 25) for the Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball team. The game had 14 lead changes and 10 ties.
Bello was 7-of-13 with four 3-pointers. He also added five assists and didn't have a turnover on the afternoon.
Quinton Morton-Robertson had 18 points. Jalen Jackson finished with 16 points and seven assists and Anthony Roberts added 13 points. It was nearly all five starters in double-digits as Eric Mulder had nine points and eight boards.
Bello made a pair of free throws to give the 'Dons their first 10-point lead at 57-47 with 16:11 left in the game. Milwaukee stayed in it and used a 10-0 run to knot up the game at 64 with 11:46 remaining.
While the 'Dons held a lead for 24 total minutes in the game, they wouldn't over the final seven minutes. A Dominic Ham 3-pointer with 7:01 left put the Panthers up for good at 77-74.
BJ Freeman led the Panthers with 38 points. He helped Milwaukee shoot 69.2 percent in the second half.
The 'Dons finished the game shooting 47.5 percent (29-of-61) and 10-of-30 from three.
Milwaukee improves to 15-14 (10-8 Horizon League). The 'Dons fall to 18-11 (9-9 Horizon League). The Mastodons are at Wright State on Wednesday.
