MURRAY, Ky. - The 4x800 relay squad for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team took second on Friday (March 22) during the first day of the Margaret Simmons Invite hosted by Murray State. Mercedes Sarver, Lydia Carrell, Ava Genovese and Riley Tate ran a time of 9:45.12 to take second.
Ella Jenkins was third in the 400 hurdles (1:06.07). Haylee Hile earned third in the steeple (11:44.36).
In the hammer throw, Nakia Harris-Campbell picked up fourth (50.07 meters). In the discus, Emery Carrico was sixth (36.79 meters).
The second and final day of the event will be held on Saturday.
