Highland Heights, Ky. - The Purdue Fort Wayne softball team fell 2-0 in the first of three games at Northern Kentucky on Friday (March 29).
NKU plated a run in the fourth and sixth innings. Olivia Pastin drove in the first run of the game and Maddie Lacer added another in the sixth.
The Mastodons left three runners aboard but were not able to push any runs across.
Aglaia Rudd had a two-out single in the first inning, but the 'Dons couldn't rally behind the early hit.
Alanah Jones threw all seven innings for the 'Dons. She struck out six and walked just one in a losing effort.
Northern Kentucky improves to 12-11. Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 5-21. The Mastodons are set for two against NKU on Saturday (March 30) starting at 1 p.m.
