Riley Tate Second in the 10000 Meters at Bucknell

MUNCIE, Ind./LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Mastodon women's track and field team was in action in a pair of meets on Saturday (April 13).
At the Bison Outdoor Classic
Riley Tate ran a time of 35:04.73 in the 10000 meters for second place. It was her first time running the event this season and she set a new personal best.
Ellie Zagel finished third in the heptathlon in a field of nine with a score of 4620. She won the javelin. Sophia Buck took fifth (4259 points).
In the 5000 meters, Lydia Carrell ran a time of 18:07.90 for 13th. Mercedes Sarver finished 31st (18:23.71).
Ava Genovese took 45th in the 1500 (4:39.17).
At the Ball State We Fly Challenge
Madeline McClerren took 25th in the 200 meters (25.63) and 23rd in the 400 meters (1:01.42). Both were PRs. Aubrey Haas led the 'Dons in the javelin (29.37 meters). Ramey Wilder took 13th (29.27 meters). Haas also had the best performance in the 100 hurdles at 15.95.
Ali Sparks earned ninth in the shot put (12.95 meters). Emery Carrico threw 12.05 for 17th. In the hammer, Sparks took fourth (52.62 meters) with a new PR. Nakia Harris-Campbell (48.26 meters) earned eighth.
In the long jump, Martia Williams was 20th (5.10 meters).
The 'Dons are back in action on Sunday at Bucknell.
