
Four Selected to CSC Academic All-District Baseball Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne's Jacob Walker, Kevin Fee, Mac Ayres and Owen Willard have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District list, the organization announced on Tuesday (June 4).
Walker (Lafayette, Ind. / Jefferson HS / Lake Land College) was a 2024 All-Horizon League Second Team pick. He hit .329 on the season while ranking fifth in the league in doubles (19). He slammed six home runs including a three-run shot in the 2024 Horizon League Championship against Oakland. Walker compiled a 3.50 GPA and earned a degree in general studies.
Fee (New Albany, Ohio / New Albany HS) was named the 2024 Horizon League Relief Pitcher of the Year. He held a league-best 3.28 ERA in Horizon League play. He finished tied for third in the league in both wins (seven) and saves (five). In the classroom, Fee graduated with a 3.68 GPA and a degree in general studies. This is his second career CSC honor.
In league play, Ayres (Indianapolis, Ind. / Scecina HS / Ball State) ranked seventh in the league with 53.1 innings pitched. He was ninth in strikeouts at 40. His best outing of the season came April 6 when he shutout eventual league champion Northern Kentucky for six innings with five strikeouts. Ayres graduated with a degree in general studies and a 3.62 GPA.
Willard (Butler, Ind. / Eastside HS) threw 34.2 innings with 20 pitching appearances in 2024. He threw a scoreless 1.1 innings with two strikeouts to get the save over No. 20 Indiana. Willard finished his sophomore campaign with a 3.80 grade point average.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
