Mastodon Field Events Open Up Competition in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field team began on day two of competition, Friday (Jan. 24), at the Brant Tolsma Invitational (Jan. 23-25), hosted by Liberty.
Mastodons were few and far between in the second day of the meet. After having no 'Dons in the day one multis, only three competitors appeared in events today.
Junior Ali Sparks held the highest finish on the day, landing in sixth place with a 15.58 meter toss in weight throw.
The other two Mastodons participated in the long jump. Louiza Kruiswijk took eighth place with a leap of 5.64 meters. Kaylee Rogaczewski reached 5.35 meters with her jump, earning her 18th.
Jordan Yanders, Jai Reed, Harmony Johnson, Aniya Young, Sanayah Ruffin, Lillian Hurd, Marissa Van De Weg, Sparks, Kruiswijk and Rogaczewski will all compete on Saturday (Jan. 25), the final day of the meet.
