'Dons Best Thomas More in Three

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball program picked up a three-set victory (25-23, 25-22, 25-16) over Thomas More on Friday (March 7).
The Saints came marching onto the court, taking an imposing 7-3 lead to start the match. The Mastodons pieced together a 4-0 surge to take over the lead at 16-14. The 'Dons managed to hold off Thomas More for the remainder of the set. Logan Muir posted seven kills in the set on a .500 percentage.
The Saints mirrored the first set, this time taking a 9-4 lead to start the second after a 7-2 run. Purdue Fort Wayne came roaring back with their own 7-2 swing. The Mastodons trampled through the remainder of the set, finishing on a 9-3 run to take the second.
The 'Dons completed the sweep after a match-high .517 hitting percentage. Muir served for the first eight points, adding two aces during the stretch. Purdue Fort Wayne capped off the set 25-16.
Muir finished as the match kills (17) and aces (5) leader. Andrej Polomac assisted on 31 kills, while putting away five of his own on a .714 clip. JP Candrian added 12 kills and eight digs on the night.
Purdue Fort Wayne rose to 7-9. Thomas More dropped to 4-5. The Mastodons will host another non-conference match against Maryville on Tuesday (March 11).
