Axel Melendez Watts Takes MIVA Offensive Player of the Week

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball outside hitter Axel Melendez Watts was selected as the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association's Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (April 1).
The senior led the Mastodons in a four-set victory over Quincy on Saturday (March 29) on the Arnie Ball Court. Melendez Watts led the MIVA in points per set during the week, averaging 4.88. The Puerto Rico native also contributed 4.00 kills per set, the league's third-most on the week, on a .355 hitting percentage.
This is Melendez Watts' first Player of the Week selection of his career.
The 'Dons will host No. 15 Lewis on Thursday (April 3) and No. 14 Ball State on Saturday (April 5) for the Mastodons' senior night.
