'Dons Fall on Sunday at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio – Purdue Fort Wayne dropped the final game of a three-game set at first-place Wright State 5-0 on Sunday (April 13) afternoon.
Offensively, the 'Dons were led by Camden Karczewski's two hits and one walk. He also stole a bag. Ryan Jenkins also had a pair of hits. The 'Dons had chances, but left nine on the bases in the game.
Trent Murphy didn't allow a run in 3.2 innings out of the pen. He fanned five (two looking), walked none and allowed one hit.
Gavin Walters took the loss after giving up five runs in 3.1 innings. Walters and Murphy combined to record nine strikeouts on the day. Jarrett Heilman went the required five innings to get the win for the Raiders.
Wright State scored one run in the third and four in the fourth. Cam Gilkerson and Nate Manley both drove in two in the game.
Wright State improves to 21-13 (13-2 Horizon League). The Mastodons fall to 6-27 (5-9 Horizon League). Purdue Fort Wayne is in action again on Tuesday in non-league play against Bowling Green at Mastodon Field.
