
Osterhouse & Sailors Named All-Academic, Chargo Honorable Mention

INDIANAPOLIS – Three Purdue Fort Wayne baseball student-athletes were honored by the Horizon League on Wednesday (May 14) when the league announced the 2025 Valeo Horizon League Baseball All-Academic Team.
Sophomore Justin Osterhouse and senior Brooks Sailors were named to the team. Senior Dylan Chargo was named to the honorable mention squad.
Osterhouse has 11 home runs in 2025, sixth in the Horizon League and tied for fifth in the program's NCAA Division I era. He has 20 home runs in his career, sixth in program history. This season Osterhouse leads the team in on-base percentage (.429), slugging percentage (.529), hits (50), runs (39), RBIs (33), total bases (91) and stolen bases (12). He was named the league's batter of the week on April 1. The infielder has a perfect 4.00 GPA in business management.
Sailors has 42 walks on the season, second in the Horizon League and second in program history for a single-season. He put together a school-record 39-game on-base streak after becoming the team's everyday lead off hitter. The first baseman/catcher owns a .415 on-base percentage with 35 runs and 10 doubles. Sailors has a 3.67 GPA as he pursues his MBA after a 3.26 undergraduate GPA.
Chargo has played in 37 games with 27 starts this season. The first baseman/third baseman is hitting .234 with 22 hits including four for extra bases. Chargo owns a 3.84 GPA in finance.
It is the first academic all-league honoree for all three Mastodons.
To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests. An Honorable Mention is awarded to student-athletes who received at least 25 percent of votes, but did not make the All-Academic team.
The Mastodons are back in action on Thursday (May 15) in Horizon League action against Wright State.
