INDIANAPOLIS – Purdue Fort Wayne sophomore Justin Osterhouse is both the Horizon League Batter of the Week and the Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday (May 19).
Osterhouse accomplished a single-game feat on May 15 that may be a first in baseball history. He hit a walk-off grand slam for his fourth home run of the game while earning the win for pitching a scoreless ninth inning in the Mastodons 21-17 victory over Wright State.
He helped the 'Dons to an 11-run ninth inning in the contest. He is the first Mastodon to hit four home runs in a game. It was Osterhouse's second ever appearance on the mound. He didn't allow a run in his one inning of work against the Raiders.
Osterhouse was dangerous from the plate all week. He added a second grand slam on Friday against Wright State for five home runs in the series. For the week he finished with a .714 batting average, .750 on-base percentage and 1.929 slugging percentage. He was 10-of-14 from the plate, with seven extra base hits. He drove in 12 runs and scored 10 times.
He has 16 home runs on the season, second in program history. He is fifth in program history for single-season total bases at 118.
This is Osterhouse's third career Horizon League Batter of the Week honor.
The Mastodons open the 2025 Horizon League Championship on Wednesday (May 21) against Milwaukee.
