Volleyball Opens 2025 With Exhibition at Western Michigan

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball is back. The 2025 season will open with an exhibition at Western Michigan on Thursday (Aug. 21) at 2 p.m.
Note: Purdue Fort Wayne and Western Michigan will play five sets, regardless of if a team wins three before the fifth.

Western Michigan finished 2024 with a 20-13 overall record and a 13-5 mark in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos won the MAC Tournament before falling to Purdue in the NCAA Tournament First Round. The Broncos return just one of their five most productive hitters from that team and also replace their primary setter and libero.
Series History
The last time the Mastodons and Broncos met was 2021, which was a 3-1 victory for the Mastodons in Kalamazoo. WMU holds an 8-4 advantage over the Mastodons in the all-time series dating back to 2002.
Back for More
Horizon League Freshman of the Year Riley Rosneck is back for her sophomore season at Purdue Fort Wayne. Last season, she was second on the team with an average of 2.63 kills per set. In league play, she upped that mark to 2.94.
Not Nixing Jena
Senior Jena Medearis will play in her hometown's backyard this season. The Nixa, Missouri native and the Mastodons will play two matches at Missouri State, just 11 miles from Nixa.
New Faces in the Fort
There are six newcomers to the Mastodon women's volleyball squad this year: Avery Parris (OPP / Evansville, Ind. / Southern Illinois), Lili Smith (S / Flushing, Mich.), Trinity Rye (OH / San Diego, Calif.), Haiden Means (S / Madison, Ind.), Stephani Winzeler (L/DS / Toledo, Ohio) and Bella DiBuono (MB / Tallahassee, Fla.).
Coming Up
Purdue Fort Wayne will head down I-69 to play in Butler's Big Dawg Kickoff on August 29-30. The Mastodons will play Middle Tennessee, Butler and Evansville.
