Mastodons Take Sixth at Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Led by Brock Reschly's 12th-place finish, the Purdue Fort Wayne men's golf team tied for sixth at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate on Sunday (Sept. 14).
Reschly, who moved up two spots in round three, shot a 1-over 72 to finish 4-over for the event. After starting on 10, the junior had three birdies on the back nine, recording a two on 12, three on 14, and four on 16. On the front, he had a stretch of five pars in a row before a bogey on eight. He finished on a high note with a birdie on nine.
Julian Dugan was the Mastodons' second-best this weekend, finishing with a 76-73-72-221. He had nothing worse than a bogey on Sunday, turning in birdies on 14 and nine and just three bogeys. He was even on the back nine to tie for 24th.
Justin Hicks shot 75-74-74-223 to take 30th place. He birdied holes two and 15 and added 12 pars for his final round of 74.
With his best round on Sunday, Nick Holder shot 79-76-70-223 for 37th. He was just one hole shy of his first bogey-free round, but birdies on six and 15 put him at 1-under for the day.
AJ Agnew shot 80-74-82-236 to tie for 67th. He birdied holes 12 and 16 to go with six pars on Sunday.
Landon Smith played as an individual, shooting 79-78-75-232 for 61st.
As a group, the Mastodons shot 304-292-288-884, matching Oakland for sixth place. Cleveland State finished four strokes better, Wright State was three ahead and Green Bay was one better. The 'Dons topped IU Indy, Detroit Mercy and Northern Kentucky.
The Mastodons will take the course again on Saturday (Sept. 20) at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Indiana.
