It is the Mastodons' first ever victory at Wright State. The win keeps the Mastodons undefeated at 4-0-3 (2-0-0 Horizon League).
It was a 2-2 tie in the 85th minute when Anderson was fouled just outside the 18-yard box at midfield. He took advantage of the opportunity by ripping a free kick into the top right corner of the goal. WSU goalkeeper Alex Normandeau never moved on the shot. Anderson's tally started a Mastodon celebration by the near corner flag.
If that wasn't enough, in the final moments of the game with every Raider forward looking for a game-tying goal, the ball broke free the other way. Anderson went right toward the net and scored his fifth goal of the season. Iann Topete assisted on the exclamation point.
While it ended up being a successful trip to Dayton, it didn't feel like that was going to be the case after Wright State scored twice early in the second half to go up 2-1. Henry Hutchinson found some space in traffic to knot the game at one in the 49th minute. Two minutes later Keiji Nakazawa used a bouncing shot to give the Raiders the lead.
Christian Leon tied the game in the 64th minute. Ben Hissrich's shot wasn't controlled by a diving Normandeau and Leon tapped the ball in from about a yard out.
The first key moment of the game came in the 24th minute. Wright State earned a penalty kick only to see Mastodon goalkeeper Sep Habibi dive to his left to record the save and keep the game scoreless.
The Mastodons went up 1-0 in the 37th minute on a goal by Christian Agyekum. It was Agyekum's first goal as a Mastodon. He directed a cross from the far left from Trey Theard into the left side of the goal. The assist is the Fort Wayne native's first career point.
Wright State falls to 0-6-1 (0-2-0 Horizon League).
The 'Dons have their final non-league game of the season on Tuesday (Sept. 23) at 1 p.m. against Southern Indiana at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
