All-Time Series: Southern Indiana leads the all-time series 13-4-1. The series dates back to 1984 when both clubs were in the Great Lakes Valley Conference of NCAA Division II. The only meeting of the two teams when both were NCAA Division I members came last year when the 'Dons won 1-0 in 2024 in Evansville. This is Southern Indiana's first visit to Fort Wayne since 1998, a 1-0 Mastodon win.
About the Screaming Eagles
USI's only victory on the season is a 1-0 win over Rose-Hulman. They have played two Horizon League foes, falling 1-0 to Green Bay and 3-2 to IU Indianapolis. David Davila, Pablo Juan and Kristopher Martial each have a goal on the season.
Double-Digit 'Dons
Shane Anderson (15) and Iann Topete (11) are first and second in the league in points. If they want to reach the top 10 in the Division I era for points in a season in program history they'll need to get to 17.
Nice Start
The Mastodons have opened the season 4-0-3. It is the longest undefeated stretch to start a season in program history.
A Win and…
A win on Saturday over Robert Morris would mark the second consecutive season the 'Dons have opened league play with three wins. The Mastodons went 3-0 in league play out of the gates last year.
No Losses
The 'Dons are the only team in the Horizon League and one of only 24 teams in the nation without a loss on the season.
All Eyes on 'Dons
The department's sixth annual Party at the Pitch on September 10 drew a record crowd of 1,062. It is the third time the 'Dons have drawn over 1,000 for the event.
OPOTW
Iann Topete had a debut weekend to remember for the Mastodons. He scored twice vs. DePaul to help the 'Dons earn a 3-3 tie against the Blue Demons. His play helped him earn the Horizon League's Offensive Player of the Week honor on Aug. 25.
OPOTW X2
Shane Anderson earned his first career Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 22. He picked up the honor after a pair of goals at Wright State, including the game winner in the 85th minute.
