Series History
In the last regular-season meeting between the two teams, the Mastodons earned a 3-1 victory over the Golden Grizzlies. Oakland leads the all-time series 23-2-1.
He Shoots, He Scores
Brandon Razo has cemented himself as the most consistent goal scorer in the country. He has scored one goal in each of the last six games, which is the longest active scoring streak in the NCAA.
Last Time Out
The Purdue Fort Wayne men's soccer team saw its four-game win streak snapped on Saturday (Sept. 26) with a 2-1 loss at Detroit Mercy. The Mastodons controlled possession for a good chunk of the contest, edging Detroit Mercy in shots 13-8 and shots on goal 6-5. The 'Dons also had a 6-4 lead in corner kicks. After Detroit Mercy scored first in minute 20, the Mastodons answered just four minutes later with a goal from Razo. He corralled a loose ball off a Titan defender to even the match. Shortly after Razo's goal, however, the Mastodons were issued a red card and they were forced to play a man down the rest of the way. Despite still keeping Detroit Mercy in check for the majority of the 65 minutes following the card, the Titans scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 81st minute.
Poll
Purdue Fort Wayne was picked to finish fourth in the 2026 Horizon League Preseason Poll. The 'Dons were edged by Cleveland State (111), Green Bay (95) and league-newcomer Northern Illinois (92). Oakland was picked fifth with 71 points.
Coming Up
The Mastodons host defending Horizon League Champions Cleveland State at the Hefner Soccer Complex on Wednesday (Oct. 7).
