Hurd Earns Second #HLTF Runner of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - The Purdue Fort Wayne's women's track and field sprinter Lillian Hurd was named the Horizon League's Women's Runner of the Week on Tuesday (Feb. 17) after breaking three school records at GVSU's Big Meet (Feb. 13).
The sophomore broke her fourth and fifth school records of the season on Friday (Feb. 13), while also aiding the 4x400 team break their own school record that they set earlier this season. Hurd began with the 400 meter dash, breaking her own school record time of 55.23 with a 54.61. The Ohio native then replaced her 200 meter dash record of 24.56 with a new time of 24.11. Both of these times sit at the top of Horizon League standings. She also was a member of the 4x400 squad to break a record previously set, dropping down from 3:46.78 to 3:45.54. The relay time is also first in the league.
This is Hurd's second Horizon League Runner of the Week selection of the season and was the Mastodons' fifth of the 2025-26 track and field season. She received her first Runner of the Week on Jan. 27. She was previously named 2025 Horizon League Indoor Freshman Runner of the Year.
The Mastodons will tackle the 2026 Horizon League Championships on February 28 and March 1, held at Youngstown State.
