FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's soccer team continues non-league action with a road contest at Central Michigan on Thursday (Aug. 27).

Know Your Foe
Central Michigan is 1-2 to start the season. The Chippewas opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Loyola Chicago, followed by a 3-2 win over Charleston Southern and a 2-0 loss to Coastal Carolina. Head coach James DeCosemo is in his first season leading the program, adding nine freshmen and six transfers to the roster. The Chippewas have scored three goals on 25 shots and made 16 saves, while allowing five goals.
Series History
Central Michigan leads the series 10-0. The last meeting between the two clubs resulted in a 6-1 Chippewas win in 2024.
Last Time Out
The Mastodons played to a scoreless draw against Southern Indiana during Kickoff + Family Weekend at the Hefner Soccer Complex on Sunday (Aug. 23). Purdue Fort Wayne held Southern Indiana to a season-low three shots on goal. Emersyn Geik and goalkeeper Sam Christle each played the full 90 minutes, anchoring the Mastodons' defense.
Christle's a Gem
In Sunday's match against USI, Christle made three saves to earn her first collegiate shutout. The redshirt sophomore leads the Horizon League with a .889 save percentage and ranks second in goals-against average, allowing one goal in two games.

The Mastodons will travel to Eastern Illinois on Sunday (Aug. 23) for a non-league match against the Panthers at 4 p.m. ET.
