Toledo started the 2026 season 3-0 after hosting Bradley, Binghamton and Oakland for the Rocket Invitational. The Rockets did not drop a set throughout the weekend. Sierra Pertzborn (3.50), Sophie Catalano (3.22) and Ava Siefke (3.11) all averaged over 3.00 kills per set. Maddy Bach and Janelle Green split the setting duties for the Rockets, helping them to a .298 hitting percentage for the week.

Purdue Fort Wayne beat Rutgers 3-2 on August 28, marking the first Mastodon victory over a Big Ten program since 1986 when they beat Ohio State. The 'Dons' win over Rutgers was a reverse sweep and featured a career-high 27 kills from Trinity Rye.

Riley Rosneck recorded a career-high 33 kills at Bellarmine, which was the fourth-most in a match in Mastodon history. Her previous career-high was 25 kills, which came against Green Bay in 2025.

Becky Barrett recorded the 1,000th dig of her Mastodon career at Bellarmine on August 29.
