2012 Season…
Played in 53 games with 49 starts… Held the third-best batting average on the team at .264 (48-for-182)… Scored 28 runs and recorded 56 total bases… Hit five doubles and one home run to end the year with 19 RBI’s… Posted a slugging percentage of .308 with an on-base percentage of .357… Drew 22 walks and was hit by a pitch five times… Stole seven bases… Recorded 125 putouts and one assist from the outfield without committing an error… Lone home run of the season helped IPFW defeat Michigan (March 23)… First double of the season came at Southeast Missouri State (Feb. 25)… Led the team with a 4-for-5 performance against Nebraska Omaha (March 30)… Recorded two RBI’s in five different contests... Stole two bases at Chicago State (April 11)… Scored three runs and added an RBI at Western Illinois (May 4).
2011 Season...
Limited to playing in just five games due to injury... Claimed medical redshirt for 2011 season... Hit .214 (3-for-14) and recorded one RBI... Recorded five putouts and three assists in the field... Went 2-for-3 at Arkansas Little Rock (March 4)... Lone RBI of the year came against the Trojans (March 6).
2010 Season...
Played in 44 of IPFW's 55 games in 2010, starting 39... Hit .319 which was third on the team, with six home runs and 19 RBI... Recorded six doubles... Scored a season-high four times and had a season-high four hits at Oakland (May 14)... Drove in a season-high three runs at Southern Utah (May 7)... Had seven putouts at Arkansas State (March 8) and Michigan (March 27)... Lone outfield assist came at UT Martin (Feb. 20).
Before coming to IPFW...
Boss transferred to IPFW from Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. Boss played center field for the Grizzlies. He started 43 of the 48 games in which he played in 2009. He batted .333 with five home runs and 36 RBI. Showed plenty of speed on the base pads, stealing 19 of the 22 bags he attempted. Had three triples and 11 doubles. Boss helped Butler C.C. to an overall record of 33-22 and a Jayhawk Conference mark of 19-13. Also a standout in the classroom, Boss was named an Academic All-America. At Wichita Heights High School, Bosswas a two-time GWAL All-City Outfielder. He helped the Falcons to the 2005 GWAL City League Championship. Boss was also given the 2006 U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award and was a member of the 2006 Triple Crown World Series All-Star Team. In the classroom he was a member of the National Honor Society and a 2006 Dodge City Invitational All-Academic Team.
Personal...
Daren is the son of Henry and Kathryn Boss. He has two brothers, Derek and Kevan. Daren received an Organizational Leadership and Supervision degree at IPFW... He is currently working on a second degree.
