2010 Season
Christensen played in all 55 games for IPFW in 2010, starting all but one. He was second on the team in batting average at .325 and in home runs with nine. He led the team in runs batted in with 41. Christensen tied for the team lead in doubles with 15. He slugged .529. Scored a season-high three times on three occasions. Had a season-high four hits vs. Chicago State on April 5. Drove in a season-high seven runs at Oakland on May 14. He homered twice in that contest.
Before coming to IPFW
A.J. Christensen transferred to IPFW after two years at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon. During his two-year stint with the Cougars he was named First-Team All-Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges. He was also a Gold Glove winner his sophomore year. In 2008 the Cougars finished the season with a record of 30-17 and third in the Region. In his freshman season, Clackamas finished 22-20 and third in the Region. AT CCC, Christensen hit .335 with three home runs and 57 RBI. He also had a fielding percentage of .989.
Christensen played his high school ball at North Marion in Aurora, Oregon. A two-time all-league selection, Christensen was also named Oregon 4A All-State second team in his senior season.
Personal
A.J. is the son of Dan and Mary Christensen. He has two brothers, Jason and Kelly. Christensen is a Criminal Justice major at IPFW.
