2009 Season
Emge made a team-high 25 appearances for IPFW in 2009. He posted a record of 2-3 with an ERA of 9.28. He also had a team-high three saves for the Mastodons. In 40.0 innings, Emge struck out 17 while walking just nine. His longest outing of the season was 3.2 innings vs. Creighton on May 8. Struck out a season-high two on four occasions, Mar. 8 vs. Creighton, Mar. 24 at Purdue, Apr. 1 vs. Purdue, and Apr. 4 at Oral Roberts. Won his first decision with the Mastodons vs. Buffalo on Feb. 27. Got the win as IPFW topped Oakland on Apr. 17. Saved wins vs. Mississippi Valley State (Mar. 14), and twice against Purdue (Mar. 15 and Apr. 1).
Before coming to IPFW:
Emge played two seasons at Vincennes University. A right handed reliever,he finished fourth in the NJCAA Division II in 2008 with 10 saves while leading the team with 20 appearances. The 6-foot, 3-inch, 200-pound relief pitcher posted a 2.70 earned run average and recorded a two-to-one strikeout-to-walk ratio.
High School
Andrew graduated from North Posey High School in 2006, where he excelled both on the field and in the classroom. In 2006, he helped lead his Viking squad to a 2A state championship over Bishop Noll, 8-1. In his senior season, Andrew was named to the All-Conference team as a 2nd baseman in the PAC conference. Along with being a state champion and all conference selection, Andrew earned a Core 40 diploma from North Posey, and continues to excell in the classroom today.
Personal
Andrew is the son of Brad and Vicki Emge. He has two sisters, Andrea and Noelle. Andrew is majoring in General Studies/Business.
