Nick Otte is in his first year as an assistant coach at IPFW. Otte is a 2002 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington where he was also a member of the baseball team. Otte pitched for the Hoosiers and recorded an 8-5 record his senior campaign with 84.2 IP, 73 K's, and only 31 BB's. Nick also tossed 4 complete games and a shutout vs rival Purdue. Otte is top 10 in IU history for career wins with 17. Nick spent the 2002 summer working at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton, FL where he worked as an instructor and a coach for a wood bat league and had the opportunity to work side by side with former major leaguers and major league instructors. "Nick is a great asset to our program. He is very knowledgeable, intense and brings a great deal of maturity to our program/coaching staff. We are extremely excited about Coach Otte, he is a great fit for our program and its style of play" said Head Coach Billy Gernon. Nick is working towards a masters degree in public and environmental affairs.
