2008 Season
Taylor appeared, and started, in all 51 Mastodon games in 2008. His .289 batting average was fourth on the team. He had one home run and 11 RBI. He was second on the team in doubles with 11. With outstanding speed for a catcher, Taylor was good on five of six steal attempts. His five thefts were second on the squad. Scored a pair of runs in four contests; Mar.12 vs. FloridaGulf Coast, Mar. 29 vs.Goshen College, Apr. 13 at Western Illinois, and May 10 vs. South Dakota State. Knocked out three, three-hit games; Mar. 26 at Michigan, May 10 vs. South Dakota State, and May 16 vs. OralRoberts. Had a season high three RBIat Oakland (May 4). Slugged his only homer at Valparaiso on Apr.30.Registered 11 putouts twice, Apr. 18 vs. North Dakota State and May 10 vs. South Dakots State. Threw out 37% of would-be stealers in 2008.

High School
Taylor graduated from Rockcastle County High School, where he was a three sport athlete. In baseball, Devin was four-time All-Region and Team MVP twice; his team won three regional championships. In 2003 his American Legion team won the State Championship. In basketball, he was a two-time All-Region player and three-time Defensive Player of the Year. His team won two regional titles with three sweet 16 appearances. As a football player, Devin was a two-time All-Region and All-District. His team won four regional championships and was a 3-time state runner-up. After high school Devin attended Lincoln Trail Junior College. During that time, Lincoln Trail won two conference titles and two regional championships.

Personal
Devin is the son of Coy and Linda Taylor. He has five brothers, Shannon, Keyvin, Shawn, Brandon and Shea. While at IPFW, Devin is majoring in General Studies.
