Before coming to IPFW
Matthew Keys played JUCO ball at Des Moines Area Community College for the past two seasons. In 2009, he helped the Bears to an NJCAA DII Region XI Regional Championship. DMACC finished the season with a tremendous record of 55-11, with a 20-4 mark in the ICCAC. Keys was a starter in 63 of the Bears[apos] 64 games he played. He hit .360 with 13 home runs and 64 RBI. His 13 round-trippers were just one shy of the team lead. He was 11-15 in stolen bases.He committed just two outfield errors in 2009. In 2008, the Bears posted a 48-18 record with a conference mark of 17-7. Keys started all 61 games he played in. He hit .316 with 19 home runs and 71 RBI. He had a slugging percentage of .675.

Keys played his high school ball at Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota. He was a two-time conference selection with the Hornets.

Personal
Matt is the son of Gregory and Giesela Keys. He has a brother, Jon and two sisters, Julia and Katie. Keys IPFW major is undecided.
