2008 Season
Brown started 36 of IPFW[apos]s 42 games in the 2008 season, mostly in left field. He hit .232 with two home runs and 13 RBI. Brown slugged .357 for the year and was a perfect 5-5 in stolen base attempts. Had a season high three hits at Southern Utah (Apr. 5). In that game he was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. He got that triple in the previous game vs. the Thunderbirds where he also homered. In the game on April 5, [quote]Q[quote] drove in a season high four runs. Had a season high five putouts vs. Georgia State (Mar. 1) and two outfield assists at Western Illinois (Apr. 13). Still feeling the effects of his 2007 shoulder injury, Brown should be 100% for his senior season.
2007 Season
Brown entered the 2007 season with a shoulder injury sustained when he helped the Grand Lake Mariners to a Great Lakes League Championship. With the injury, he hit .237 with a team high 2 triples and 7 stolen bases. He had season ending surgery mid-way through the season, but expects to make full recovery for his junior year.
2006 Season
Brown had an outstanding debut patrolling left field for IPFW in 2006. Brown played in 43 of the Mastodons 49 games. He led the team in batting average with a .360 and slugged .528, while battling some nagging injuries most of the campaign. Brown tied for the team lead in home runs with three. He also had four doubles, a triple, and 19 RBI. In the field, Brown committed just one error in 50 chances. Scored a season-high three times vs. Chicago State on 4/15. Drove in a season-high three runs on two occasions (3/30 vs. Calumet College and 4/28 vs. Grace College). Posted five three-hit games.
High School
Brown played outfield for Head Coach Ty Calloway at Western High School. Named All-Area and All-Conference his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Indiana All-Star in 2005.
Personal
Quentin is the son of Albert Wendell and Tarita Brown. He has two brothers, Wendell III and Kyle. Quentin is majoring in Secondary Education at IPFW.
