Before coming to IPFW
Ryan Jacobson spent two years at Heartland Community College in Rockford, Illinois before landing at IPFW. In 2008, the Hawks posted an overall record of 37-15 with a MWAC league record of 21-8. In 17 appearances,Jacobson was 1-0 with a 4.32 ERA. He tossed 16.2 innings, striking out 19 while walking 11. Jacobson saved one game for the Hawks. In 2009, Heartland was 42-9-1 with a MWAC mark of 22-6. Jacobson made nine appearances posting a minusule ERA of .077. Opponents hit just .128 against him.

Jacobson played his high school ball at Guilford High School in Rockford, Illinois.He was selected NIC-10 All Conference in both his junior and senior seasons.

Ryan is the son of Kim and Lori Jacobson. He has two brothers Erik and Chad. Jacobson is majoring in Criminal Justice at IPFW.
