Scott graduated from M.M. Robinson High School in Burlington, Ontario. Scott was awarded the Rookie of the Year honors in 2001, while receiving the Team MVP award in 2002, 2003, and 2004.
He attended Kaskaskia Community College after high school where he was named Academic All-Conference and All-American. Scott is the son of Robert Wells.
