Before coming to IPFW
Taylor Schmidt transferred to IPFW after playing at Lincoln Trail College. In 2009, Schmidt appeared in 13 games in relief. He posted a record of 2-0 with an ERA of 0.69. He also saved three games for the Statesmen who went 16-17.
Schmidt played his high school ball for Chad Dodd at Blackford High School in Hartford City, IN.

Taylor is the son of Leon and Lucy Schmidt. He has a brother, Connor. Schmidt is majoring in Communications at IPFW.
