Germaine Fairchild was hired as the eighth head coach of the Purdue Fort Wayne softball program, with her first season in 2015.

An accomplished player in her own right, Fairchild played six years of professional softball in the United States. She won championships with the Connecticut Brakettes, NY/NJ Juggernaut and the Washington Glory. She was also a player-assistant with the New England Riptide before becoming the head coach.

She graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor's degree in environmental policy with a minor in political science, and received her master's degree from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas.
