Jeanne Rayman was announced as the Purdue Fort Wayne softball assistant coach on February 17, 2020.
Rayman is a veteran softball coach with both collegiate and club coaching experience. After starting for four years at Butler University, Rayman returned to her alma mater to coach. She was a volunteer coach from 2002-04, a full-time assistant from 2004-05 and was selected as the seventh head coach for the program in November of 2006.
As the head coach of the then-Horizon League member Butler, she led the team to a 26-24 campaign in her first season (2007). This was the first winning season for Butler since 1991. She totaled 69 wins in her first three seasons, which, at the time, was the second-most by a Butler coach in their first three seasons.
Rayman finished her career at Butler in 2010 with a 36-19 season, which still stands as the most wins by a Bulldog squad in program history.
Since her time at Butler, Rayman has coached for 10 years for the Shockwaves Rayman 16U travel team. The program has produced over 100 collegiate level players.
The Shockwaves Rayman program consistently finishes in the top 25 in the ASA/USA national tournaments. They have finished fourth, ninth and third in the last three seasons. Rayman is also a private hitting instructor for players ages 8-18. Rayman is also a private hitting instructor for players ages 8-18.
As a player for Butler, she was a four-year All-Horizon League performer at third base for the Bulldogs, and was a two-time Butler MVP. She was Butler's leading hitter in 1989 and 1990, holding Butler's single-season records for doubles, home runs and RBIs. Her best performance was hitting two grand slams in the same game in 1990.
