Tracy Coffman joined the Purdue Fort Wayne staff in the fall of 2023.
In her first season with the Mastodons, the 'Dons went 14-33 and 9-15 in the Horizon League. The Mastodons finished seventh, their best league finish since 2019.
Coffman came to Purdue Fort Wayne after spending 10 years at the University of Northwestern Ohio, where she started the NAIA program. At UNOH, she compiled a record of 219-151, including a WHAC championship in 2018. She coached 23 First Team All-WHAC selections and three First Team All-WHAC pitchers. This included former Mastodon pitching coach Heather Sanderson. Coffman also led the Racers to 36 WHAC All-Academic Team honorees.
Prior to her time at UNOH, Coffman was the head coach at Division III Hamilton College from 2009-11.
Before her stop at Hamilton, she worked at a pair of Division I institutions in Stetson and Central Florida. She was at Stetson from 2002-05 and 2008-09, where she had two staffs in the top-25 nationally in ERA. In 2004, she coached a First Team NFCA All-Region honoree.
Coffman worked at Central Florida from 2005-08, where she coached the pitching staff to a top-five ERA in the nation in 2007. She helped the Knights to the 2008 Conference USA title before they knocked off No. 1 Florida in the Gainesville Regional. They finished the year No. 25 in the AVCA Top 25 Poll.
Coffman was a four year letterwinner at Toledo, where she played middle infield, outfield and pitched. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in adolescent education from Toledo in 2002 and a master's degree in education from Stetson in 2005.
Coffman and her husband, Jon, live in Fort Wayne.
