CAREER: Ranks in the top-10 in nearly every hitting category including batting average (.341/4th), slugging percentage (.579/1st), on-base percentage (.429/2nd), at-bats (375/8th), runs scored (64/4th), hits (128/3rd), doubles (26/3rd), home runs (21/1st), RBI's (82/2nd), total bases (217/2nd), walks (56/2nd), and intentional walks (5/2nd)...Her fielding percentage of .985 ranks fourth all-time, while her 812 chances and 723 putouts are second most in program history...Her 21 career home runs rank 11th in Summit League history, as does her .579 slugging percentage, and is just outside of the top-20 in Summit League history in RBI's, total bases, walks, doubles, and hits.
2010: Was named First Team All-Summit League as a catcher...Named to the girls got game/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete Team...Named to the Summit League Winter/Spring Academic All-League Team...Named to the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence...Set single-season school records in slugging percentage (.812), home runs (15), RBI's (43), total bases (112), and walks (28)...Batted .399 (55-of-138), the third highest batting average in school history, and had an on-base percentage of .497, third best in the history of the program...Her 33 runs scored are second most in school history, while her 55 hits are second most...Hit a dozen doubles, tied for the third highest single-season total program history...Her 15 home runs are eight more than the previous single-season record, and had 14 more runs driven in than the previous record...Was intentionally walked five times, the second highest total in school history...Her home run and slugging percentage totals are tied for second most in Summit League history, her total bases are 17th, and RBI's 20th.
2009: Named to both the Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, and to the Academic All-League team...Earned the Summit League Hitter of the Week honors on March 30...Finished first on the team in batting average, .280, going 30-for-107 at the plate, while starting all 38 games at catcher...Scored 11 runs with 13 runs batted in and a trio of home runs, tied for second most on the team...Her three home runs are tied for the the ninth most in a single season in school history, while the 17 runners she caught stealing were tied for the most in IPFW softball history...Struggled to start the year, picking up her first hit of the season in her sixth game, snapping an 0-for-14 dry spell...Rebounded strongly to improve her batting average to a season-high .321 just past mid-season...Went 2-for-4 with two runs driven in against Youngstown State, before going 2-for-2 with a run scored and two RBI, two days later against the same team...Went 2-for-3 in the finale against Southern Utah, including blasting her first home run of the season while scoring twice...Went 2-for-4 in the last contest of a two-game series in the cold at Detroit, before hitting her second home run of the season against IUPUI on March 27...Had a season-long eight-game hitting streak that went from the second game of the Southern Utah series on March 20, and ended with an 0-for-2 outing in the last game of an afternoon double header with Dayton on March 31...Had a perfect 3-for-3 game against IUPUI on March 28, with a runs scored and two driven in...Hit her third and final home run of the season on March 31 against Dayton, going 1-for-1 on the day and drawing two walks...Had a four-game stretch in which she was 7-of-13 at the plate, driving in two runs, and raising her season batting average to .321...Went 3-for-4 in the second game of a double-header against Western Illinois.
2008: Was named to the Summit League All-Tournament Team...Member of Summit League Academic All-League Team...Dean's List Member both semesters...Led the team in doubles (10), and tied for the team lead in RBI's (26)...Finished second on the team with a .331 batting average and a .393 on-base percentage...Clubbed three home runs and 62 total bases, each third best on the squad...Also had a .982 fielding percentage, tops among the IPFW regulars...Recorded her first collegiate hit on March 7 against Holy Cross, going 2-for-4 in the game with a double...Drove in a pair of runs against Monmouth on March 12...Went 2-for-2 in the series finale against Western Illinois, going 3-for-5 against the Leathernecks in the two games...Drove in two runs while going 2-for-3 at the plate against Southern Utah on March 29...Hit a blistering .452 over the final 18 games of the season, going 28-of-62 at the plate with seven doubles, a home run and 19 runs batted in, and reaching base safely in 16 of those games...Started her hot stretch by going 2-for-4 against Valparaiso, before going 5-for-9 in the three-game series with IUPUI, including a 2-for-3, three run opener and a 3-for-4, two run finale...Hit a grand slam home run against Oakland on April 16...Drove in a pair of runs in the final against Cleveland State on April 22...Went 2-for-3 against Wright State on April 30...Had a 3-for-4 game with two runs batted in against Centenary on May 2...Went 2-for-4 against the Ladies of Centenary in the series finale...Had a stellar first day of the Summit League Championships, with back-to-back 4-for-5 days at the plate...The first stellar game came against Southern Utah, and the second against Centenary, where she scored three times, and drove in a career-high five runs...Following her IPFW season, Karpun continued to play, and was named an All-Star catcher at the 2008 Midget Girls Canadian Nationals...Played against Team Canada and Team Australia at the Canada Cup 2008.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Sands Secondary School; however, did not play on the high school team...Member of Canadian travel team that captured the Provincial Championship in 2004, and the Canada Cup in 2005.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Mark and Daniela Karpun...Has one brother, Jeff, and one sister, Alysha...Majoring in French with a minor in biology.
