Quincy Cunningham was named the graduate assistant coach for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team on June 27, 2022. He was promoted to a full-time assistant coach role in the offseason prior to the 2023-24 season.
In 2023-24, the Mastodons advanced to the Horizon League semifinal for the second year in a row and earned a berth to the Women's National Invitational Tournament. The Mastodons picked up their first-ever WNIT victories en route to a Super 16 berth.
In 2024-25, Purdue Fort Wayne had its best season in program history, going 27-9 and 18-2 in Horizon League play. The Mastodons made it to the Horizon League championship game before earning a WNIT Great 8 berth in the postseason. Cunningham helped Lauren Ross become the first player in NCAA history to lead the country in both 3-point percentage and free throw percentage. She was named Horizon League Newcomer of the Year and earned an All-Horizon League First Team nod.
Cunningham spent the 2021-22 season as a Player Development Assistant for the University of Maryland women's basketball program. While Cunningham was working with Maryland, the Terrapins went 23-9 and went to the Sweet 16. The Terps also had five wins over AP Top 25 teams. Cunningham assisted in individual player and team on-court workouts, served as a practice player, and assisted in film breakdowns. Maryland spent the entire season in the AP Top 25, climbing as high as No. 2.
