
Bulls Dominate in Playoff Victory

Buffalo, NY-The Buffalo Bulls fired 34 shots, held IPFW to four, and topped the 'Dons 3-0 Tuesday night in the Mid-American Conference play-in game at Buffalo.
It was the final MAC match for the Mastodons, who will begin play in the Mid-Continent Conference next season.
Buffalo opened the scoring at 8:55 when senior forward Braden Byler converted a rebound off of a shot from defender Dave Chojnowski.
The Bulls increased their lead to 2-0 just before the half on a header by freshman midfielder Steffen Thoresen. Thoresen headed a free-kick from senior defender Kevin Balkanloo.
UB got their final goal of the match in the 54th minute on a Brian Knapp goal from about 12 yards out.
IPFW sophomore goal keeper Josh Howell, who relieved starter Michael Knitter in the 9th minute, made 14 saves in the match.
Buffalo keeper Daniel Bell stopped both Mastodon shots on goal he faced for the shutout.
IPFW finishes the 2006 campaign with a record of 2-15-1.
