Sophomore guard Frank Gaines (6-5/190/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is averaging 12.5 points a game, and senior guard Zach Plackemeier (6-3/190/St. Charles, MO) rounds out the top-three scorers for the 'Dons at 10.9 points a contest.
WHAT 2 WATCH 4
IPFW remains undefeated this season when scoring in the 70's (7-0). The Mastodons are also perfect when holding a lead at the half (6-0) and when shooting 50% or above from the floor (3-0). IPFW's win at Oral Roberts snapped a short two-game losing streak. It's been a season of streaks for the 'Dons. They lost two straight earlier in the year (Xavier and Cincinnati) but rattled off six in a row before falling at Valpo and #13 Purdue.
SCOUTING THE GENTS
Centenary is led in scoring by junior guard/forward Maxx Nakwaasah (6-3/210/Dallas, TX) who is averaging 10.8 points per game. Sophomore forward Jeron Trotman (6-6/212/Huntsville, AL) is second on the squad in scoring at 8.9 points a contest, while reserve freshman forward Logan Lowery
(6-5/180/Kingwood, TX) rounds out the top-three scorers for the Gents at 7.3 points a contest.
WHAT 2 WATCH 4
Maxx Nakwaasah has been a Mastodon killer. Last year, he posted 22 points at the Gold Dome and 18 points at the Coliseum. IPFW will continue to be wary of Nakwaasah after his 16-point performance vs. Oakland.
