IPFW Hosts SIU Edwardsville, Mastodons Look to Get Back on Winning Track

Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW men's basketball team will step out of conference Tuesday night for a rematch with SIU Edwardsville at the Memorial Coliseum. The Mastodons had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon in a 78-74 loss to IUPUI. IPFW beat SIUE, 70-55 to open the 2010-11 season at Edwardsville, Illinois back on November 12.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are led in scoring by senior guard Ben Botts (6-0/170/Muncie, IN) at 14.5 points a game.
Sophomore guard Frank Gaines (6-5/190/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is averaging 11.9 points a game, and junior guard Jeremy Mixon (6-1/175/Indianapolis, IN) rounds out the top-three scorers for the 'Dons at 10.7 points a contest.

IPFW's record-setting school conference winning streak was snapped by IUPUI at 5-0. It was also the first time IPFW lost at home (6-1), lost when leading at the half (9-1), lost when scoring between 70 and 79 points (6-1) and when shooting over 50.0% (4-1). The Mastodons again appear in the “others receiving votes” portion of the Mid-Major Top 25. It is the 6th time in 10 polls so far this year that the Mastodons have been mentioned.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
The Cougars are led in scoring by junior guard Corey Wickware (5-10/175/Indianapolis, IN) at 12.3 points a game. Senior forward Nikola Bundalo (6-10/240/Belgrade, Serbia) is second on the Cougars in scoring at 9.9 points a contest, while junior guard Cornelius Chatt (6-2/195/Madison, IL) rounds out the top-three in scoring for SIUE at 9.4 ppg.
WHAT 2 WATCH 4
The Cougars will be without the services of star forward Mark Yelovich for the rest of the season. Yelovich left the season-opener against IPFW with extreme cramping, only to find out that he also sustained a broken bone in his foot. Yelovich had 15 points in the opener vs. IPFW. The Cougars are 0-10 in actual road games this season. They are 2-0 in neutral site contests (both at the IBN Las Vegas Classic).
