Fort Wayne, IN - The top spot in The Summit League will be on the line when the IPFW men's basketball team hosts Oakland University on Saturday night at the Memorial Coliseum. Oakland is a perfect 6-0 in league play, while the Mastodons' only loss (5-1) came at the hands of IUPUI, 78-77.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are led in scoring by senior guard Ben Botts (6-0/170/Muncie, IN) at 14.6 points a game.
Sophomore guard Frank Gaines (6-5/190/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is averaging 12.5 points a game, and junior guard Jeremy Mixon (6-1/175/Indianapolis, IN) rounds out the top-three scorers for the 'Dons at 10.9 points a contest.

The Mastodons have been extremely accurate from the floor, averaging over 50.0% in four of their last five games. In that fifth game vs. Western Illinois, IPFW shot 48.9%. In those five contests, the 'Dons are hitting 52.1% of their attempts. Solid all season from behind the arc, IPFW is tied with Ohio State and Pitt for 26th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (39.6%). As good as IPFW has been from the field, they are even better from the free throw line. The Mastodons are 17th in the nation in free throw shooting, making 76.1% from the charity stripe.

The Golden Grizzlies are led in scoring by Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Keith Benson
(6-11/230/rSr./Farmington Hills, MI) who is averaging 16.9 points a game. UMKC transfer guard Reggie Hamilton (5-11/175/rJr./Chicago, IL) is second on the Grizzlies in scoring at 14.8 points a contest, while senior forward Will Hudson (6-9/235/Madison, WI) rounds out the top-three scorers for OU at 13.1 ppg.

Oakland has won 14 straight Summit League contests and including league tournament games has won 17 in a row against Summit League teams. They are 30-1 in their last 31 games in conference play. The Golden Grizzlies owns an 8-3 edge in games over IPFW at the Division I level, including the last six straight. Oakland has eliminated IPFW from the Summit League tournament the past two years. Oakland is 0-4 this year when being outrebounded. IPFW is 6-0 when outrebounding opponents, but OU holds a +6.9 rebounding edge per game this season.
