Fort Wayne, IN - On the heels of a 68-55 win over Western Illinois on Thursday night at the Memorial Coliseum, the IPFW men's basketball team will host in-state rival IUPUI on Saturday afternoon looking to stay perfect in Summit League play.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons are led in scoring by senior guard Ben Botts (6-0/170/Muncie, IN) at 14.2 points a game.
Sophomore guard Frank Gaines (6-5/190/Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is averaging 12.3 points a game, and senior guard Zach Plackemeier (6-3/190/St. Charles, MO) rounds out the top-three scorers for the 'Dons at 10.6 points a contest.

IPFW improved to a D-I best 10-4 record with their win over WIU, and also improved to a league-best 5-0. IPFW's win over WIU was their third straight. The 'Dons are now 6-0 at the Memorial Coliseum and 9-0 when leading at the half this year. The Mastodons went a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line against Western Illinois. Free throw shooting has become a weapon for IPFW this year. The 'Dons are shooting 76.0% from the charity stripe as a team. That's 18th best in the nation.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI is led in scoring by junior guard/forward Alex Young (6-6/200/Indianapolis, IN) who is averaging 18.0 points a game (Third in the conference). Senior guard Leroy Nobles (6-5/195/Louisville, KY) is second on the team in scoring at 15.6 ppg., while junior guard Stephen Thomas (6-1/170/Indianapolis, IN) rounds out the top-three in scoring for the Jaguars at 10.7 points a contest.

IUPUI lost at Oakland on Thursday night, 85-71 snapping a three-game winning streak. It was the Jags' longest winning stretch of the season. IUPUI has won its past five trips to Fort Wayne. The last loss to the Mastodons in the Fort was on January 7, 2003. IUPUI leads the overall series with IPFW 18-10, but lost the last meeting between the two teams on New Year's Eve last year at Conseco Fieldhouse, as Zach Plackemeier hit a jumper with time winding down in overtime to give the 'Dons a 62-60 win. It was the first win for IPFW head coach Dane Fife over IUPUI Head Coach Ron Hunter.
