SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
Valparaiso comes into Tuesday's game with a 1-6 overall record, with the team's only victory coming on November
30 against Indiana-Northwest.
This season the team is led by Tabitha Gerardot, who averages 10.7 points, while Gina Lange (9.6), Shaquira
Scott (8.9), and Ashley Varner (8.4) all are aproaching the double-figure plateau. Varner also averages a team-best
9.0 rebounds, while blocking three shots. Gerardot averages 6.7 boards, while Scott, Varner, and Jessica Carr each
have 21 assists to lead the team.
LAST TIME OUT
Senior Stephanie Rosado eclipsed the 1,000 point career mark, while freshman Haley Seibert drained a trio free
throws with two seconds left in overtime to cement IPFW's 82-76 victory over UMKC Saturday evening at the War
Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
The Mastodons have won back-to-back games and remain perfect in the Summit League at 2-0. The 'Dons
are now 4-4 overall this season. UMKC drops its second-straight road game and moves to 5-4 (0-2, SL) in 2011.
Rosado led the 'Dons with 23 points and five rebounds. She has scored in double figures in the last three
games. Murphy matched a career-high with 21 points, totaling a career-best nine rebounds, as well. Seibert
recorded a career-best 13 points off the bench, while Boese scored 13. IPFW had a great afternoon at the line,
shooting 88% (30-34).
REACHING AND NEARING A MILESTONE
IPFW seniors Stephanie Rosado and Anne Boese have either reached, or are extremely close to reaching a career
milestone - 1,000 points. Rosado got her 1,000th point in the second half of the December 3 overtime victory
over UMKC, while Boese currently stands with 997 career points. If both reach the milestone this season, it will be
the second straight year that two players from the same IPFW women's basketball team reached the 1,000-point
milestone in the same season, as Jordan Zuppe and Chelsey Jackson each accomplished the feat last season.
CAREER RECORD BREAKER
Not only is IPFW senior Anne Boese closing in on the All-Time Summit League three-point makes record, she is
quickly climbing up on the IPFW career three-point record book. Against Butler she moved into the second seat on
the all-time list, and with 249 career makes, she needs just two to pass former teammate Jordan Zuppe for the top
spot on the list. Below is the top-four three-point make totals in school history.
