Cedar City, UT – Freshman forward Kyle Davis had a game-high 18 and junior guard Ray Jones, Jr. added 16 points as Southern Utah dominated IPFW, 84-66 on Thursday night at Centrum Arena.

The Thunderbirds (11-17, 7-10) led wire-to-wire avenging an earlier 10-point loss to the Mastodons at the Memorial Coliseum.

SUU put the game away in the first half, shooting 57.1% from the floor and holding the 'Dons to just 8-27 (29.6%). From there, the T-Birds were content to just trade baskets with IPFW in the second half.

Along with Davis and Jones, Southern Utah got double-digits from sophomore forward Jackson Stevenette (15) and junior center Matt Massey (10).

IPFW was led in scoring by senior guard Zach Plackemeier with 12, all coming from behind the arc. Senior guard Ben Botts, junior forward Trey McCorkle and sophomore guard Frank Gaines each chipped in 10.

SUU outrebounded IPFW 35-28.

With the loss, the Mastodons fall to 17-11 and 10-7 in league play. The Mastodons return to action for their final regular season contest on Saturday night at UMKC. Tip time is 8:00 p.m.
